Its easy to notice the stereotyping going on here when you switch the genders of all the subjects.
The below piece was taken from Minneapolis Bike Love and altered so that all gender references are swapped.
Since we can write about anyting we deem appropriate, I’d like to write about my ride home last night in the rain. After a meeting with some amazing energetic men (you know who you are), I rode home in a drenching ride, a good 45 minutes worth.
I encountered both women and men and I tell ya, I was really struck by the difference in the two groups - you be the judge, but I’m glad I was a male rider.
The women, for the most part were in peletons of spandex, heads down grinding away. The men on the other hand, were just having a ton of fun. To the group of three who joined me in riding thru the big puddles just west of Humboldt on the Greenway (and just giggling away as we did) Bike Love! To the man who had fancied up his own protective rain hat with newspaper - darling, you are divine! And to the group of men on their classic three speeds with suits and rain gear - I bow to your fashionista style and I hope to emulate you soon.
